Kantar WorldTech; a research company, said at the end of December that Apple had raised its share of UK smartphone sales in the previous three week to 30.9%, from 21.4% the year before. For the year as a whole, Apple had a 21.5% share of sales, ahead of Samsung with 21%, said Gartner, and both ahead of RIM with 20.3%.
Google's Android dominated the quarter and the year, with a 40.4% and 43.2% share respectively. The figures also underline Samsung's dominance of Android, where the UK figures – in line with broader world trends – show that it has roughly half of all Android sales.
Looking at the above figures and I'm finding myself the least surprised! With the anticipated release of the apple 4s is there any shock that the sales have boosted? There has been such a big hype to the release, such high expectations and by the looks of these figures the phone met these expectations! Apple phones are head and shoulders above other smartphones. I may not actually onw an iPhone, but thats because I am clumsy and have broken 5 blackberrys :P !! But if I was more careful I would definitely consider buying an iPhone, they seem totally worth the money.. What about you? Do ether of you own iPhones, were disappointed with them? Or do any of you agree with me, would appreciate your feedback on these phones :)
